Full 3-step gutter cleaning including underground drain flushing — not just debris removal. We clear your gutters, flush your downspouts, and jet underground drains.
Most gutter cleaning services remove debris from the gutter channel and call it done. That leaves two major failure points: downspout blockages that back up the entire system, and underground drain lines that are completely full of sediment. We do all three steps on every job.
All leaves, twigs, shingle grit, and organic debris are removed from the gutter channels by hand and blown clear. Gutters are checked to ensure proper slope toward downspouts.
Downspouts are flushed top-to-bottom with high-pressure water to break up any blockages inside the pipe. Compacted debris and mud nests are dislodged and flushed through.
Where underground drain lines are present, we use a sewer jet to flush the buried pipe clear of sediment and root intrusion. Most companies skip this step entirely.
Gutters that overflow dump water directly against your foundation. Over years, this saturates the soil around your basement or crawl space walls and creates hydrostatic pressure that causes cracking, bowing, and water intrusion. Foundation repair runs tens of thousands of dollars.
When gutters overflow or back up, standing water sits against the fascia board and soffit material. Wood fascia rots from sustained moisture contact. Replacing rotted fascia and soffit is expensive carpentry work that a $150 gutter cleaning would have prevented.
Wet debris in gutters creates ideal nesting habitat for mosquitoes, wasps, and birds. A standing-water gutter is a mosquito breeding ground. Once established, gutter pest problems require both cleaning and pest control treatment to resolve.
Spring gutter cleaning clears winter debris and the heavy pollen load specific to the Catawba Valley. Pollen builds up fast in Hickory and forms a paste with water that blocks downspouts and creates gutter weight problems.
This is the most critical cleaning of the year. After all deciduous trees have dropped, the full leaf load is in your gutters. Leaving it through winter means wet, compacted debris that is much harder to remove in spring and creates freeze-thaw damage risk.
If you are cleaning gutters more than twice per year or have heavy tree coverage, gutter guards eliminate the maintenance cycle. We install and clean micro-mesh gutter guard systems through our Hickory Gutter Pros brand. Learn more about gutter guards.
